Tulipa gesneriana, enlarged approx. 5 times, in SOMSO-Plast. After Prof. Dr. W. Weber. The model shows the longitudinal section of a shooting tulip bulb. The dry outer scale encompasses the fleshy inner leaves (or leaf bases). The young shoot carries a flower bud. A replacement bulb forms down the axis of the innermost scale and an offshoot bulb down the axis of another leaf. Separates into 3 parts. On a base with key. Height: 31 cm., width: 18 cm., depth: 18 cm., weight: 680 g.
